I think the book is divided in two parts because,it seperates what happens in the beginning and introducing the characters. And the second half is mostly about the Tom Robinson case and of the family name of the finches and how they want to be known as good people.

I think the book is seperated in to two parts because the first half is telling about and introducing the characters , also leading up to the case Atticus is working on . The second half is more specific in the Tom Robinson case .

The book is split into two parts because the first part deals with Boo Radley and the second part deals with Tom Robinson.
